A pair of pedestrians were injured after being struck by a car Sunday night.
The incident happened just before 6:30 near the intersection of Hart and 15th streets. When police arrived, the driver of the vehicle, 47-year-old Darrell Wayne Raber of Loogootee, reportedly tried to leave the scene. Raber was apprehended by authorities shortly thereafter.
Both pedestrians were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital to be treated for their injuries, while Raber was taken into custody by police.
He now faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash resulting in severe bodily injury, a level 3 felony, operating while intoxicated resulting in severe bodily injury, a level 6 felony, and resisting law enforcement.
Assisting VPD at the scene were the Vincennes Fire Department and Knox County EMS.
