ISP Hosting 5k That Could Save a Life

Posted on November 7th, 2017

The Indiana State Police will host a 5k run later this month, and it could save a life.

The aim of the Bolt for the Heart race is for ISP to raise money to equip every patrol car in the Evansville district with an Automated External Defibrillator. Since partnering with the Indiana State Police, Bolt for the Heart has purchased more than 200 AED units. As a goal for 2017, Bolt for the Heart wants to raise $300,000, which would purchase 250 additional AED’s to be deployed with troopers statewide.

According to ISP, the 5k run is self-paced and a great family activity for a good cause. To register for the event, set to take place on Thanksgiving Day at the Center Green in Carmel at 9:00 a.m., you can visit boltfortheheart.com. You can also participate in the virtual race and run elsewhere for the same distance.

And if running isn’t your cup of tea, you can still help! Donations can be made online on the race’s website as well.
