Winners in the annual “Not With My Life” contest were announced during a ceremony held yesterday at Vincennes University’s Davis Hall.
Knox County students took part in a public awareness campaign to draw attention to the dangers of prescription drug abuse and the growing opioid epidemic. The students produced posters, public service announcements, and this year for the first time, there was a video PSA category.
A team from Lincoln High School was the overall winner in the video PSA category. The winning team included Dylan Thomas, Sarah Haygood, Jaden Pfoff and Daniel Colvin.
Maya Wilroy of North Knox High School won in the poster division. Maya’s poster will be professionally printed and displayed in area schools and other locations through out Knox County.
Lincoln High School’s Hunter Dail was the first place winner in the radio PSA contest. Hunter will have his winning entry recorded and aired on Blazer 91.1.
The contest is sponsored in conjunction with the League of Women Voters of Knox County, the Local Coordinating Council for a Drug Free Knox County, WVUB and WVUT.
