Pair of Musical Events Set for This Week

Music will fill the air at Vincennes University this week!

The festivities get underway tomorrow night as the VU Department of Music will present a Faculty Piano Recital at 7:30 in the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center.  VU piano professors Sean Cavanaugh and Dr. Claudia Bossard will perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major.” Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m.

Later in the week, the Music Department will present ‘Guitars in the Night.’ Also taking place in the RSPAC, the annual event will highlight a number of VU music students and ensembles, including Classic Guitars, String Ensemble, Blues Ensemble, and Advanced Guitar Class.   The event will feature everything rom Pink Floyd to Stevie Wonder, and Creedence Clearwater Revival to T. Graham Brown.

Several VU alumni will be special guest performers, including singer, songwriter, guitarist and former Miss VU Hannah Swan, and classical guitarist Joseph Jones.

‘Guitars in the Night’ gets udnerway at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 16th.
