Posted on November 20th, 2017

A Carlisle man is facing charges after the semi he was driving crashed into a home in Sullivan County last week.

Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom says 59-year-old Daryl Shorter has been charged with possession of methamphetamine. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license.

The incident occurred Sunday, November 12th near the intersection of U.S. 41 North and Washington Street.

Cottom says the homeowner narrowly escaped serious injury when Shorter’s semi came crashing through her living room.

Officials say crews had to use the jaws of life to free shorter from the semi. He was taken to the hospital and later released.
